Next generation battery management system for second-life EV batteries.

GRNbms makes your energy storages easy

GRNbms is a next-generation Battery Management System developed in-house by pro-LOX. Using GRNbms not only batteries from modern electric vehicles can be used for energy storage, but also their cell monitoring hardware (CMU’s). Reusing as much components as we can, is both cost effective and sustainable. As a result the return on investment is reduced, while the quality is increased, as these CMU’s have specifically been designed to be used with these batteries.
Support HV-systems via GRN HVextension and GRN HV Box
GRN HVextension is a new member in the ecosystem to control and secure your HV battery.
Volkswagen, BMW and much more to come
GRNbms is currently targeted at the Volkswagen ID.series (ID.3, ID.4 and ID.Buzz) and the BMW I.series (i3, i8). More brands and models are in development and a generic GRNbms 18s CMU will become available so the possibilities will be endless.
Flexible and powerful
With flexible interfaces and a powerful dual core processor, the GRNbms offers a state-of-the-art modern battery management system. Continuous further development and technical support ensures operational reliability.
Taking care of your batteries
GRNbms monitors and regulates all voltages, temperatures and limits of the cmu. It balances the cells independently and communicates with the inverter to guarantee maximum operational reliability.
Connected and accessible
The BMS can be reached either via ethernet or WiFi. You can also integrate it into your network and access it conveniently without having to set up an extra connection.
Thanks to the intuitive web browser interface, you can access and configure, and control it with any internet-enabled device.

GRNbms features and possibilities

  • Web dashboard and online updater – On the web interface you have realtime insight in the status of your batteries. You can configure GRNbms and download and install updates simply by using a browser and a computer.
  • Integrated main and precharge relay – intended for low voltage architectures.
  • GRNbms supports MQTT – easily integrate your BMS into your smart home or track your cell voltages in a database. With MQTT, there are no longer any limits to communication!

And more

  • Configuration watchdog – a special algorithm checks your basic settings in the background and only activates the system if they are plausible. This avoids, for example, that 5 modules can be configured even though the system only recognizes 4.
  • Possibility for different strategies to calculate SOC and SOH – decide for yourself how your GRNbms suits your project
  • SmartHome intergration via ModBus – get full control and informations into your Loxone or HomeAssistant device
  • RS485 to TCP/IP bridge – control your Deye Inverter (or any other) easy via Loxone or HomeAssistant
